Summer Plans

Hello nice people, now I am going to talk about my summer plans.

There is not much to say since I am in a English IV intensive in the actual summer, but let`s try....

Usually I travel a lot with my girlfriend, we are planning to maybe backpacking around the beaches of the VI Region, just because is near to Santiago and we have few money and time. Though, we travel a lot the past year, we went to Chiloe and travelled around castro and visit beautiful natural parks, then we go to Buenos Aires in Argentina, we visit the famous Colon theater and the biggest libraries I ever seen in my life, and bought books that doesn’t exist in Chile.

In the second part of the year we went to visit her family in Isla Negra, in the V region of Chile, and after that we backpacking to my parents house in Litueche. We dicide to go again to Argentina but now to Rio Negro in the south of Argentina, we see the beautiful and big Pampas in the way there, and once in the city we visit the cinemas and saw many Argentinean Films that are pretty good.

In the begging of this summer, we went to Chiloe again, but this time we travelled around Quellon, a Beautiful town in the south of Chiloe, this time we go to visit a Huilliche community that dedicate their lives to the “etnoturismo” center in know and protect your lands and live in peace with the nature, they are very nice people and they have an awesome knowledge of their culture, about their music and poetry.

In the next summers we are planning to visit another countries in Latino America, mainly Cuba and Brazil, so we need to save a lot of money :C

Tv Shows and Series

Hello everyone, in going to talk about my favorite TV shows and series:

It Is difficult to choose a favorite series, but think if had to choose, It Will be Full Metal Alchemist, It Is crazy because i don’t like very much the anime series, I’m not very Otaku, but i think this show Is like world culture.

Is a beautiful ( and sometimes shocking) series about two brothers that lost their mother after a difficult sickness, and for some reason their father was lost in the world.

This history take place in a fantasy country called "amestris". In this country the people have the ability of control the "alchemy" that Is an old and magic science, and they decide to use this alchemy to bring theirs mother back to life, though this Is forbidden. Obviously this went terribly wrong and they lost parts of their body because of the rules that this science had. So this kids with no mother and a lost father, start a journey to bring back they normal bodies.

What I think I love the most about this series and all the tv shows and movies, Is the character development. I like to feel that I can understand the feelings of a character, why they do what they do, and how the story affect them and make them change, in a few words, I like the characters and the plot to be real and with deep problems about being alive.

Now I’m watching a very good Netflix series that my girlfriend recommend me, it is called “Anne with an e” is very nice and with very good characters.

Academic challenges in 2020

What can i say about my study programme and the musical performance career in the university of Chile?

First of all, most of the courses given are basically just European and White supremacy on almost every aspect, is true that the contents and teaching methods are pretty good. We have very good classes of Music theory, Harmony and advances methods and technical resources for the music performance, but as a Latin America Musician and artist we need so much more than that, we have no idea about ourselves, our music and the history of our composers, at the end we are just a bad copy of European musicians.

We don’t need to know the 5^th Symphony of Beethoven to study music as some teacher said in the radio.

Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t erase everything and start again, every culture has something important to teach us to be a better artist and musician. We need to open our mind about the music of our people, and then study them, otherwise all we are doing fall short of worthwhile. Even European Teachers and Universities know that when a musician or a composer doesn’t know about the popular music of his country, his work, most of the time, is meaningless.

And talking about buildings and infrastructure, there is not much to say because is basically a disaster, the rooms are very old and not conditioned for musical studies. The library is small and very disorganized, though it is essential for our courses.

The Best concert ever

The best concert i attend to in my life, was in the movistar arena, on September of 2018. The artist was Ruben blades and the Roberto Delgado salsa bigband, Ruben Blades is a very famous singer and songwriter from Panama, in his long career he has played a lot of Latin American styles of popular music and Jazz but he is well know in the  world for his salsa albums and recordings. The Roberto Delgado Bigband is formed by many of the most talented and experienced musicians of Panama, Together, they decide to do a world tour with arrangements of the famous songs of Ruben.

Since the begging the atmosphere was very festive, the artist spoken about revolution and about the Latin American cultures, the performance of all the musicians was excellent, almost unbelievable. I wait a lot for this concert since is one of my favorite artists, I remember I spend a lot of my money for the ticket but it doesn’t feel like a waste, it was a dream come true, many times you don’t have the opportunity to see your favorite artist alive.

The country i would like to visit

Cuba

If one day I have the chance, I would visit Cuba for a long time, it is my dream since I was a little boy. The music and artistic culture of Cuba is amazing, many of their popular styles are the most developed in the world, in fact, one of the most influence music in the world of our time, the salsa, was born in Cuba from the son Cubano, Also their musicians perform in the highest level of excellence.

 Of course I would visit all the iconic places of the Cuban culture, like the houses of the old rumberos and the streets where they gather to play the drums, dance and sing all together. Once arriving those places, I would talk to the people because only them know the places I must visit.

  Although I would enjoy a lot this journey, the most important think to me is to learn about their music and culture, study with their famous musicians and share with the people.
